As you know I have 3 little ones, so my schedule can be limited. I’ve always wanted to do some type of volunteer something, but I’ve never known what to do or what could work into my family’s schedule. Then I stumbled onto this Giving is Awesome .
I am starting Giving is Awesome December 5th. Please wait until then to send your emails.
So here goes…
You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.
You know someone. I guarantee it.
I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography — $1500 worth, to be exact. Whether it’s canvas or albums, prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over, it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.
Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $300 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?
The rules:
* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)
* The nominee must reside in Tennessee and either be able to come to me or be within a short drive from Knoxville. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.
* You must e-mail me the full story : ramsey@ramseygarzaphotography.com
The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!
Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.
With love,
Ramsey Garza
If you are not in my area, go to the website and maybe they can help you find a photographer in your area.
I know some cute babies and cute big kids, but I think we need to have a contest for the CUTEST baby or big kiddo you know. It can be yours or a friend’s or a niece or a nephew. Please, oh please, make sure you get permission from the parent before posting the picture.
If that child is chosen by Facebook Fans of Ramsey Garza Photography, he or she will get a free photo session with me. I’ll even let them bring their parents and siblings to join in the fun. Not only do they get a free session, but they will win 10 high resolution, professionally finished files (of the photographer’s choosing) on a CD and a mounted 11X14 (A package valued at $850.)
Now start posting! Just follow this link:

Register as a fan and submit your photo.
Then fans can vote on who they think should win. The top three finals will be announced December 8th. The final winner will be announced December 15th.
Because I live in Knoxville, and I have family in Memphis, TN, the contest is open to both cities and surrounding areas. Of course, if you are willing to travel to either city for a shoot, feel free to submit a photo. Please make sure there are no watermarks or logos on your photos. Please vote by hitting “like.” The three finalist will be posted on Facebook and on www.RamseyGarzaPhotography.com. Images produced from the winner’s photography session will be posted on Facebook and www.RamseyGarzaPhotography.com. All images are property of Ramsey Garza Photography.
I know that we are just putting away our costumes, but if you haven’t already booked your holiday session, now is the time. Thanksgiving is in just a few weeks, and then all the holiday cards will be going out. I will admit one of my favorite things to do since having children is sending out my cards, but I love taking photos, so I might be a bit partial. However, I truely enjoy looking back at my little one’s cards. I remember thinking that my two oldest were so big, but when I look through their photos, I realize they were babies with their little round faces and rolled wrists and wispy baby hair. If you want to book a session for a Christmas or holiday card, my last session for that will be December 10th. If you are interested in photos as a gift, my last session is December 13th.
Send out holiday cards this year and have precious family memories for yourself. I am currently offering a mini-session with 10 edited, high resolution files for $250. This is a savings of $500 (for those who love compare at prices because I know I do). You can reprint these photos on holiday cards or use them as gifts for your family. A la cart professional prints, gallery wraps and canvases will be offered at a 15% discount as well.
I don’t think there is anyway to start this unless I tell a lot of people thank you. Let’s see…I’ll start with my husband who bears the brunt of my obsession. This photography thing did not happen overnight. I wasn’t able to simply pick up a camera and just “get it.” I have spent countless hours practicing, reading, and going on shoots. He lovingly supported me and spent many hours single parenting, supporting my investments in camera equipment and encouraging me when I needed it. I’m a lucky girl. Then there are my parents, who no matter what I email them, they shared it with friends and our family and made me believe that I had talent. They have always supported my love for visual arts. Thank you to everyone who dressed their family up and let me practice on their babies. I really love doing this. I’ve always wanted to be an artist, and I now have the chance to do that. Thank you Mrs Zent for telling me my pencil spheres and chalk bell peppers looked good. I remember each assignment, and I look for leading lines in every compositon. I hope I make you all proud.
